Many Hands is a growing community of volunteer student Mentors from across our seven independent Higher Education partner institutions, who come from all walks of life and are trained in listening and mentoring skills. Our project aims to support and improve positive student mental wellbeing.
There are all kinds of ways our mentors can help. You might be a new student who would like some moral support from a more experienced fellow student as you begin your journey in higher education. Later on in the year, you might like to talk about issues or challenges you are experiencing. Or you could be a returning student who wants some support to be the best you this year. If you are feeling lonely, isolated, worrying about money or careers, or simply struggling with balancing student life, work and family, our mentors can help you deal with issues at an early stage and keep you on track.
Contact us to find a mentor today!

Mentees should be studying with one of our 7 partner institutions and be: a mature student (over 21), a Black, Asian or minority ethnic student, or studying a creative subject.
If this is you, apply to the programme, and we help you to find a suitable mentor from one of our 7 partner institutions. You will have up to 6 sessions of up to 30 minutes, which will take place via our online mentoring platform, face-to-face or on the phone. You will receive a full induction, which includes signing up to our mentor/mentee agreement. You can apply here, browse FAQs here, or email us for more information.
And check out the profiles below to see the kinds of people who have already signed up as mentors.
